The contents of this newsletter were written prior to the destruction of Katrina. It was due to be released about the time she rolled onshore, and we delayed the release a few weeks. Future newsletters may contain articles about Katrina. We'd like to take this opportunity to offer our thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this devastating storm. We wish you the best as you recover. Please know that your Storm2k family is with you in spirit.

I would like to thank all those who voted me Storm2k Member of the Month. When I joined Storm2k in the Fall of 2003, I knew it was the best place to be, with friendly people, and different opinions on the thing I like to do most...track weather! I have made great new friends and hope to make more. Though the road has been bumpy sometimes, I hope that all members of Storm2k can get along and be friends. That is the most important thing of all. So, thank you for voting me Member of the Month, and I am proud to be a part of this great site.

There are many great members in the community, and several of you were nominated as the Member of the Month. I congratulate each of you on your nominations.

The diversity of this community amazes me. We have members that are hobbyists as well as professional meteorologists, all with one common interest - the weather. The forums provide a great interactive arena to discuss multiple aspects of the weather. I'd also like to say a big Thank You to Marshall, Chad, DROliver and the mods for doing a great job in keeping storm2k such a great place for weather enthusiasts.
