Arkess7 here, and ever since my best friend OTown told me about this site, I have been totally ADDICTED! It was in Sept. of last year. Me and OTown go way back, we have known each other since 6th grade. Almost 22 years now! I have always been interested in hurricanes ever since I can remember. Being born and raised in Orlando, Florida, its a way of life down here. My Dad was always a weather person, and the weather has always fascinated me. When I was 9 years old, me and my Dad watched a bolt of lightning hit the ground right across the street from my house. After the storm passed we went outside and there was a hole burnt in the grass. From that point on I always took the weather as an awesome force. Just like the old saying "you cant mess with mother nature".

So now in the past few years I have been an avid hurricane tracker, and more so since I got a computer. 2005 was such a freak year for hurricanes and it has changed the way a lot of people look at hurricanes now. They are not to be taken lightly. I have been living here in Ocala for the past 2 years now. Beautiful horse country here. Ocala is known for its horses and ranches. Frances and Jeanne blew threw here last year and made a mess of things, but we got lucky. It could have been way worse, as alot of you guys here at S2K know. I have been married for 6 years and we have a 5 year old daughter. She is in Kindergarten and is learning to read now. Its so amazing watching them learn and grow! Being a mother is one of the greatest joys in my life!

Well there are other weather sites and forums out there, but S2K will always be #1 in my book! You guys are an awesome group of people! I'm glad to be a part of your site! You guys rock!!!!!!!!

I vaguely recall being unhappy with "that other weather board" and receiving an email inviting me to try Storm2K. It's been a heckuva ride ever since!

I've always been fascinated with clouds, not crazy about wind, and terrified of thunderstorms. I've learned to confront some of those fears by learning about weather from the folks here.

I've lived all over the world and wont bore anyone with the details, but it's been a good (and fascinating) life so far.

I'm a bit of a nerd in that I almost always correctly answer all of the Millionaire and Jeopardy questions on TV and bug my family by solving Wheel of Fortune puzzles with few to no letters guessed. My head is full of useless trivia and some important stuff too!

I spent half of my childhood in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains. While in middle school, we moved to Tucson and eventually to Phoenix. I attended Northern Arizona University (GO LUMBERJACKS!!), joined the Air Force, traveled the world and came home to become a civil servant.

I love birding, needlepoint, movies, books (I read three books a week), traveling, cooking, and gardening.

We live in the northwest Florida panhandle now, but are doing everything we can to get back to Arizona, even if it means living in New Mexico for a few years until we can retire.

Our hybrid family has five kids (26, 25, 23, 21 & 17), four grandkids (4,3,2,& 7mos), and three dogs. I've been married 15 years today. We work together so there are days I would GLADLY trade him in but most days he's a keeper.

I've made some most excellent friends here; Sunny, Karan, Linda, David, Chad....( I hope I havent left anyone out).

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to be a part of such a great virtual family!
