@NWSSanAntonio: Based on the Current Temperature at Austin Camp Mabry (91 degrees based on logging into the ASOS) this is the earliest EVER we have been that warm (period of record dates back to 1897). The previous 'earliest 91+ degree day' at Camp Mabry was 2-17-1959.

The temperature differences in Texas are crazy. Down south it’s in the 90s and up here we haven’t gotten out of the low to mid 40s all day.

There is definitely a big contrast across the state from the northern and southern tiers. DFW has seen the front pass and is falling while mid 90s down south. The area where the front stops or close to it, with return flow, may see some drastic busts one way or the other. Depending on which air mass wins. Far north stays cold, far south stays warm.

I noticed the RH is also is 22% at Mabry, which definitely makes it more tolerable as a silver lining. True Mexican desert downsloped air.

I’d prefer playing in the snow but that was pretty awesome. We had a summer blast for just a bit. Once your feet go numb the air temps were great. Got everything put up as the front just blew through. Sitting on the porch now and the breeze feels wonderful. I’ll enjoy the more winter like weather the next few days too. Variety is great.

We’ve already hit our forecasted low.
Edit - After posting I just saw that they have lowered it to 25.

Yukon, you kind of gave us the early heads up yesterday on this little cold front which overachieved. It was interesting late last evening to read some of the forecast discussions out of NWS offices about how this front was much faster and stronger than even the short-range, hi-resolution models predicted. I don't know, I like it when Mother Nature throws us curveballs like this ... just to show we don't know everything.

Sitting 45 degrees here in Austin with thick clouds. Yesterday the forecasts suggested low 70s today. Now, we'll be lucky to hit 60.
