Temps don’t really seem to be dropping like I assumed. We’ve only gone down 4 degrees in the last 5 hours, from 45 to 41. The hourly forecast only looks to get down to 35 for roughly an hour or so around daybreak.

Yeah temps are running about 2 degrees higher than where I thought they’d be...dang it I knew this would happen. The radar looks fairly nice at the top of the rain band with a nice snow line but it’s just not gonna materialize for DFW I don’t think.

HRRR continues to hold steady as a non-event for DFW. The 00z 3k NAM, 21z SREF, and 18z Euro all cut back on totals (using totals loosely, since ratios would probably be bad and surface temps are above freezing) and that is probably the last round of models that we could gleam anything from. We now move to nowcasting and hoping against hope.

I know it’s only 8:55 pm but unless things look better in the next hour or two I think this is officially a bust.

I don’t believe temps in the 80’s during December is a good thing. That just isn’t right.

Ehh, would it really be a bust though? There was never that great of a chance to begin with.

Technically not a bust, nws never said this was going to be a big snow event. Mixed precip was predicted, dew point in Keller is currently 33 degrees. This all depended on wet bulbing. Always been a very fickle thing.

Very true ^^^

Oh well, at least it’s early December and we’ll get some good rain out of it :)

Yep, going to have to wait and see what happens with the wet bulbing.

Honestly I never was impressed with the setup so I'm not really disappointed tbh and honestly the pattern right now is so against snow.

Maybe in a few weeks the pattern will actually be more supportive of snow

03 HRRR shows no snow in Texas, even shutting out the favored areas SW of DFW.

Yeah barring a drastic change I'm calling a non event

The snowless streak is gonna live on... Just think in March it'll be 5 years!

Are y’all smoking crack ? :uarrow: Real time trends are looking good. Evaporative cooling is taking place already, it’s 36 in Decatur/Mineral Wells and it’s only 11pm. Northern tarrant is 37-38, temps have dropped 5 degrees in the last hour alone with the onset of this precip. We still have a long way to go but with dew points at 32-33 and the columns cooling already, it’s not looking bad

I will say the dew point and temp both are lowering nicely. Just don’t see it happening but may get close.
