It'll be interesting to see if it's as bad as they're saying it might be. I don't think they have everything restored in Pennsylvania yet and it didn't get anywhere near the hype.

Research and tracking of the major winter storm crossing the south/southeast by the hurricane hunters. They do this in major winter storms each year.

From the plan they'll be doing 10 dropsondes along the route to gather data from the storm.

The low is 34 tonight in Baton Rouge... and the future radar on weather.com shows that pink getting awfully close to us... there can't possibly be a chance we see a little sleet out of this, is there?

Hurricane Hunter: that's unreal... if that pans out, especially after this one, Atlanta and the south in general will be economically devastated.

Coming down like crazy in south Charlotte and we're hours away from the heavy stuff. Please, no ice!

I see Augusta, GA is reporting 33 degrees now. Could possibly be the saving grace from a catastrophic ice storm. South Carolina still seems to be getting hammered. Stay safe over there!

31/32 here with what appears to be freezing rain with a few ice pellets mixed in. It's weird though because we've been below freezing since 5am and things are not really freezing. You can see ice in the pine trees here but that's about it. :cold:

No unless I'm just blind... :( I have seen some sleet bouncing off the cars since last night but it has not amounted to anything yet.
