The national weather service in Traverse City, and Escanaba,MI has issued a Winter Weather Alert until 5:50 p.m. Est, for the following:

Michigamme
Beacon
Marin Landing
Champion
Wobic
and Hombolt Mine

Winter Weather alert This is issued for a combination of snow, sleet, and/or freezing rain. Advisories, in general, are issued for weather conditions that are expected to cause significant inconveniences and may be hazardous, These situations are normally not life threatening if caution is exercised.

Winds Calm, 36 degrees, low of 25 Degrees. Snow amount 2-4 Inches.
The reason this has been issued, is a whiteout could be possible.
