Does anyone know the current status of the old KHOU forum board?

We are up and running with some issues that are being addressed. Here is the link...

You will need to scroll down the page to see the Weather Forum. ~sigh~
When you get "page not found" go to the address bar and replace www with z.
You may have to re-login with your username and password a couple of times before posting.
This was the update from our "ally" at KHOU regarding repairs and hopefully a fix for the Weather Forum...

Please tell them forums will be back to normal soon and please be patient with us. We have a tiny staff and LOTS of work to do on our new site. It’s very overwhelming, but my boss and the weather guys realize the importance of our forums and she’s moved them up on the priority list.

I'll keep folks updated and a special thanks to the S2k staff for letting us keep our "local folks" informed. :wink:

Nevermind, I got it.... Didnt realize you had to scroll to the bottom of the page, I thought you had to scroll down to the weather section.... lol.... Yup, im slow.. lol...thanks!!!

I'm not from Houston but how big of a station is KHOU TV? I checked out the forum but much of what I saw I couldn't read, words on top of words at the top of the page were hard to read.

Its one of the main news stations in Houston and probably the top CBS affiliate in the state.The forum is under construction... But im not quite sure why you cant read the words.Did you scroll to the bottom of the page?

FYI: We are upgrading to a new dedicated server. We will be back up after that transition and upgrades are completed.

FYI: There may still be some issues ahead and expect some downtime as the IT folks and our server hosting company 'work out' some bugs. I have been informed that all activities should be fully completed by early next week (Monday/Tuesday).

It was last night. I saw an announcement on FB. I don't have time this am to try it. Will check it later.

Yes it is. The new dedicated server was brought online yesterday afternoon and fully checked out. The DNS propagation will be completed today by Belo Corp in Dallas after a thorough check on the back end of data by the KHOU Staff in Houston yesterday. The new dedicated server is Cloud based and this was planned as ongoing upgrade efforts have been underway for the past several months.

Taken off of FB as of 18 minutes ago.

Weather Forum Update: Belo Corp in Dallas estimated a 24-48 hour turn around yesterday to get the DNS information pointed to our dedicated Cloud based server. We will update as soon as we are back online and running smoothly!

This is the same thing STORM2K went through when we changed servers recently. Patience is key.
