Last year, my family left my parent's house in North Texas during a Christmas Eve snowstorm.
Ended up with 2 to 3 inches in Sherman/Denison. 10 inches in Cooke County. 10 to 14 inches in central Oklahoma.
The first white Christmas I've ever experienced.

It was the most powdery snow I've ever seen here in North Texas. Was hard to build a snowman with that fluffy stuff. Fun times...

What a system it was to watch on satellite in the southern plains.
Also a monster in the center part of the country, lasted for days. Some places in North Dakota reported over 40 inches!
On December 24, rare blizzard conditions impacted areas mainly northwest of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Some locations received as much as 9 inches of snow from Jacksboro to Bowie to northwestern Cooke County. Winds gusted over 50 mph, with drifts as high as 3 to 5 feet. Portions of U.S. Highway 287 between Decatur and Wichita Falls were impassable from Christmas Eve into Christmas morning. The 3 inches of snow at DFW Airport was the first measurable snowfall on record for Christmas Eve. In Montague County, snow remained on the ground into the new year.

We only got about an inch or so in eastern Dallas County, but it was still an event to remember:

I remember going to Christmas church service and it being in the 30's with a 30 MPH wind. VERY cold. White Christmas' for us southern folk are always memorable. Our Xmas event in 2004 will always be the most memorable. Seriously was a dream that came true that Christmas Eve
