Freak T-storm Drops Hail/Sleet/F0 Tornado - Fairfield, CA

#1 Postby fogbreath » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:48 pm

I was just a bit bummed that this skirted just to the NE of me (we did get a smattering of hail within our brief downpour) but for everyone in southern Solano County, it was something I doubt most locals had ever really seen before.

Here's a story one of the local TV stations (Fairfield is sort of right smack between Sacramento and San Francisco, so here we got a Sacto station) did, with video included

Here's a link a nearby weather station's recordings for that day in Suisun City

Fun stuff is that the hail/sleet/now slushy mix actually stuck around overnight, allowing locals to awake to a coating of white outside this morning. And this was one week prior to temperatures hitting around 80-degree mark around most of this area
