CHILLY 39.9 at my house in New Port Richey at 630am, up to 43F now. COLDEST yet. I do not like this cold. Too early. This week is to warm up both days and nights, any cold in sight down the road? You know Canada has got to throw us something in December!

After a 40F low both Sun and Mon AM, today zoomed to near 80F, with a return to the low 80's by the weekend after some 75-78F in between. Nice late fall weather. Cold stay away! Rain come this way!!!

Consecutive freezes observed here at my location this past Sunday and yesterday, with 30 degrees measured both mornings.

Looks like we will not have any freezes at least for the next 5-7 days in this region. Beautiful autumn weather continues, although we can use some rain for sure.

Obviously it has warmed considerably. Highs have been around 80F even here near the coast, since Fri 11/30 and nights near 60F. Today was even rather humid. Keep the warmth! :sun:

This looks to have been a epic fail for the Peninsula of Florida with the their predicted below average temperatures. So far it's been above average with temperatures and does not look like January could be much better as of right now. :double:

It still doesnt make sense that areas to our north - where our cold comes from - would be above average and we would be below average. Considering how dry it is, it makes even less sense. Perhaps that is why we have been so warm? This cold front will definitely bring in winter, with freeze and frosts all the way to the north edge of Tampa Bay. Hopefully it will be short-lived. :cold:

A SIGNIFICANT PATTERN SHIFT WILL THEN TAKE PLACE ACROSS THE CONUS AS
A LONGWAVE TROUGH ENGULFS THE EASTERN TWO THIRDS OF THE NATION. A
BLAST OF ARCTIC AIR IS EXPECTED...WITH 1045-1050+ SURFACE HIGH
PRESSURE MOVING INTO THE NORTHERN PLAINS SATURDAY OR SUNDAY.
MODELS DIFFER ON THE TIMING AND HOW COLD IT COULD GET NEXT
WEEK...BUT THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANTLY COLDER
TEMPERATURES BY THE EARLY TO MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK.

Out of the Miami NWS,how many people actually believe this. Not going to happen this winter.

Winter arrived today. A line of showers has been proceeded by a drop in temps and wind. Currently overcast, 58F with a stiff 20mph wid blowing at 430pm. For this year, at least, this is winter. I would not mind if this is as cold as it gets! I hate the cold. :P

Pretty pleasant out down here. This is going to be one of those quick hitters with not a ton of truly cold air on the playing field. I like these.

The next two freezes could be interesting in north Florida. Many of the flowers in the area had begun to bloom as if it were spring. We are expecting a frost or freeze tonight and another freeze/hard freeze on Wednesday.

Next week's cold blast will also glance us, but based on models, it appears the freezing line may drop to the north edge of Tampa Bay in radiational cooling. Tampa Bay should remain somewhere around 40F, 35-40 far north and east. Then warming up again, then cooling down. This is the pattern for the next few weeks. Up and down. Oh spring, get here and stay.

Yes, days ago! It has me worried but I believe this one will be a glance. They are so varied on the lows right now. I am seeing anywhere from mid 30's to 45F. What'cha thinking?

12z ECMWF drives the cold deep into central Florida. Maybe 20's north to low 30's central this weekend IMO. A snow cover is possible over north AL, GA, TN, e.t.c... which will keep the cold from modifying as much.
