Well, there is my final contribution to them for the night, since the snow has ended.

This winter is definitely different, since the last couple I was up at Fort Drum, NY. No more 2 ft of snow overnight, 3 or 4 ft just sitting on the ground, no -30F temperatures!

I'm just happy they are little 1 - 2 inch snowfalls. Just enough to make everything look clean and pretty and you can still get around okay on the pre-treated roads. :cheesy:

My town was on the northern fringe of the snow fall where we had at least a coating. I had to clean off my car before I left, but about 5 miles to the north of me, there wasn't any snow on the grassy areas, though there were flurries.

Supposed to get 1 to 3 inches today, with the next clipper system to push through. I, personally, am hoping for more snow than they are forecasting! I wouldn't mind 4 to 6 inches. We need a good snow, so we can go sledding at some point this year!

:D Hope you get it Brunota and have a blast sledding!

Must admit I'm nervous posting in these threads since I'm never sure who got (and wanted) snow and who might be getting nasty mean tornado weather.

Well, we got about 2 inches today, and had a total of 3 inches on the ground. The temperature was up to 36F (2C) though, so the snow is sticky and melting some. Couldn't find the pump for the tube, so no sledding today :( oh well

I was just on that western edge of the storm. I received about an inch, maybe 1.5 inches of wet snow. If you went 20 to 30 miles south of me, there was nothing, 50 miles to the north and they had about 6 inches of snow, another 50 miles and there was a foot. Crazy! I have friends on Long Island that have 30 inches of snow and they live in Suffolk County, Long Island, the eastern most part of the island. It looks like Nemo bombed out over the Suffolk County, Long Island area, CT, central MA and RI. They were clocked.

My friends do have power. They were out of power for over a week after Sandy. They won't forget this past fall and winter for a long time.

Lucked out here, we got about 2 inches...but lots of wind! I am thankful, Sandy really got me bad, and I was worried it would be a repeat, I am thanking God it wasn't!

This whole winter has just been a series of little clippers rolling through with an inch or two at the most of snow. I was fortunate to have missed that great Blizzard but many just to my north weren't as fortunate.

I'll take winters with light snowfalls during each storm ANY TIME.

We didn't get as much rain today as they were expecting with the storm that is just leaving us now. However, we'll take the moisture and the temperatures in the 40 's scheduled for the next week. March has had many a surprise for us in this area in the past, but MAYBE winter's grasp is loosening slightly. I can't tell you how many robin I've seen and heard in the past two weeks. They never do really go away, but they only come out in force when the weather is milder.

Looks like the Mid-Atlantic could see a good snowstorm. Particularly near the Mason-Dixon and around the DC/Batimore metro areas along with northern Virginia.

6-12" will probably be the biggest snowfall for the nation's capital since 2009-2010.

It's always strange for me in NJ to see a snow storm hit further south than me like Virginia. Not that it doesn't happen and this year the Philadelphia area has been blessed with near-misses. Just a lot of little 1 - 2 inch snow falls. The temps are forecasted to be in the low 40's on Wednesday here, but it does all depend on where that Low goes.

This system turned out to be a dud for most of the Mid-Atlantic. While the GFS/NAM kept showing several inches of snow for the DC metro area it remained mostly rain/snow mix because temperature profile were too warm. Euro nailed it showing virtually little accumulations for the I-95 corridor and mainly a higher elevation event to the west towards the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia.

That low almost looks like a subtropical storm now?

No snow the day they forecasted for it, and snow the day they didn't. THEN 60 degree weather - which they did forecast. WELCOME to March where anything goes. This is the true March madness! ;)

So, I'm going to say we had about 2" of white slushy mush until the temps rose and the snow mixed with rain. If we had a lot more of the heavy wet snow, there would've been power outages and trees down galore. That was the heaviest snow of the winter. It still blows my mind that we could get snow at 34 - 35 degrees. It didn't really stick to the roadways and sidewalks, though they were a little slushy. It made for a very picturesque seen on the lawn and trees.

Now, run along Ol' Man Winter. You need a nap and let Mr. Spring come out and play! ;)
