Unbelievable snowstorm!

#1 Postby RL3AO » Thu May 02, 2013 9:21 am

Never seen anything like this. Over a foot of heavy snow on May 2nd. Trees are down every where and power is out in many places. I'm getting ratios of near 3 to 1 so were talking over 3 inches of precip.

Try to get pics soon. Internet is down so Ill get some up from the phone.

It is simply absolutely amazing to see such an unprecendented winter storm event occuring in May. Just amazing snow amounts in Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin that I have seen this morning.

1044 mb Polar High building down all the way into the Northern Plains and Rockies. This is one of the strongest polar High Pressures to build down into portions of the lower 48 all season, and it is occuring in May. That is just amazing.

May record was around 3 inches so to see these 14 inch+ totals is amazing. Probably a once In a lifetime event.

WOW! My Cousin flew from Houston yesterday a.m. to visit family in Red Wing. Hope everyone's okay. I know she hadn't planned on running into an historic snowstorm. Just...wow.

It's like the weather is making up for lost time from last year. That kind of snow for May though is unreal!

Yea, this cold weather is for the birds. Was watching the news today and a farmer up in Illinois can't plant because there is still ice in the fields. Where is global warming when you need it?...MGC
