wxman57 wrote:Lots of steady, moderate rain across Houston. About 1.5" on average across the city. No severe weather, so that's good. Locations east of us along the Gulf Coast won't fare so well today.
I think that the 384hr GFS finally has a great handle on what will happen in March:

I saw where LSU is cancelling classes tomorrow afternoon and other schools in Mississippi and Alabama are closing early or even for the entire day.
Makes me kind of wonder if an April 2011 kind of day is shaping up?
Most schools in South LA are closed and it's pretty ridiculous for an enhanced risk of severe storms. Not trying to get all political but this is the epitome of the pussification of America. Never in all my years of school did we ever get days cancelled due to the "potential" of bad weather. The day before Andrew made landfall we were in school. Could go on and on and not even talking about walking to school in the middle of a blizzard in 3 feet of snow

Meanwhile, I am so pleased to report the Portastorm Weather Center in scenic southwest Travis County received about 1.4" of liquid gold between midnight and 5 am. Finally ... a verified forecast!
