I'm measuring 31" of snow in the backyard.
The fences here are starting to disappear in this and nearby towns (shot by a friend):
I shot this photo out my front door last night. Even the deer want to come in:
It does appear that we will get a break from the snow though:
We also never get snow days here. The only time the schools ever closed was on February 1 1985. It was -61F (without the windchill) in Maybell, just west of here. The school buses wouldn't start.

That's a lot of snow! I get emails from a resort in Telluride(Mountain Village actually) and this is the email I got today:
31" in 72 hrs!
Telluride has been blanketed with 31" of snow in the last 72 hours and its still snowing! We've received over 19ft of snow this season and we're just getting started. Join us for what is shaping up to be one for the record books!

Indeed, you are lucky or unlucky (depending upon one's point of view).

Almost all of our water comes from snowpack, so I guess we need it. On the other hand, it can and often does snow 10 months out of the year here (all months but July and August). For years when it is still snowing in mid-June, but then most of us say "enough already".

I just love it when you post your pictures whether it's hiking or just pictures of your yard.
