Temps are yet to fall here. Still around 26F. DP is 16F. We clear out, i expect the temps to crater.

What are the chances we get a bust with our expected high of 37? That would not be good for us if this ice stayed around even longer.

I don't see that happening, think the odds are pretty low.
Probably around 9 at best.

12° in Gainesville already. That's the lowest I've seen so far.

New Euro Weeklies have a very cold look for February with above normal precipitation. Does DFW finally cash in during Feb or do we sneak in something before then?

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

DFW hasn’t hit single digits in 20 years because we have gone from 3 million people to 7 million. We got close in 2010 and again in 2011 but missed it. It’s not a myth. When I lived two miles north, it was always missing the freezing mark while all around me people are getting crushed with ice and snow. It’s the warmest part of the metroplex.

Incidentally, last time DFW was below zero was on a snowless ground.

This storm was not a bust across much of Texas. The forecast generally verified, with ice accumulations causing treacherous travel across a large part of the state. Here in Houston, we got about 0.50 inch of sleet and ice. I'm looking forward to the 70s returning this weekend. This winter has been wild. 3rd time I've seen frozen precipitation in the past 45 days. That's unbelievable.

16 here in Frisco. Single digits a sure thing if Gainesville is already at 12.

It’ll come. February and March are ours. If it’s going to miss, I’d rather the southern guys get it.

Yep, really extraordinary, It maybe a once in a lifetime winter for those in the southern half of the state...pretty crazy considering the rest of the state into the central plains has had one of the biggest snow droughts I can remember

I'm glad at least a few of the Texas offices got these forecasts right...us Metroplexers have had to deal with two forecast busts within less than a week of each other. Pretty impactful considering the unnecessary delays, school closures, and employee down time that have occurred due to those forecasts. The batting average has definitely been below league average lately- the good news is we're only at the half-way point of winter, plenty of time to improve that average

15 at 7:30 and now 10 at 10:30. Pretty steady dropping. Single digits are a given, now let’s see how low.

One of the Central Texas news stations, KXXV 25 had a big "apology letter" on their facebook page from the meteorologist, because I guess the forecast busted for them big time, Maybe Waco/Temple area?

that's an honorable tv station. My fav when I lived in Killeen. They had too much dry air. Unfortunately, that channel is always bullish on wintry precip chances and severe weather, although they have hands down the best severe weather coverage.
