We’ve now been without power at my house here in Wharton since 9am. Been about 15 hours now without it. Longest we’ve ever gone without power here that I can remember. Thank god I found my portable cell phone charger so that’s been a lifesaver and I’ve been going in my truck a lot to keep warm as well.

The winter storm North Texas might be looking for may be depicted by the 0z CMC, this storm has been depicted on the GFS and Euro in previous runs. The East Coast guys are watching this storm like a hawk. I'm hoping for a Northwestern Gulf Low to Apps runner with no transfer. That track usually brings snow to the plains and Eastern Midwest.

Haven't been on here since earlier. Just held up in the Ice Cave trying to stay warm all day. Took some pictures that I will post in the afternoon but I'm so exhausted now that I can barely keep my eyes open. Hope everyone has been warm and safe. Have a wonderful night.

It's 8 here with 4 inches of snow on the ground. :) Finally some semblance of winter before we warm up again. Hope everyone down there without power get it back soon!

South Texas Storms wrote:This storm was not a bust across much of Texas. The forecast generally verified, with ice accumulations causing treacherous travel across a large part of the state. Here in Houston, we got about 0.50 inch of sleet and ice. I'm looking forward to the 70s returning this weekend. This winter has been wild. 3rd time I've seen frozen precipitation in the past 45 days. That's unbelievable.

And we have a lot of winter to go. :D

18 degrees here at my house in Wharton and feels like 9. Still no power here. Good thing I have plenty of comforters to stay warm lol I think the last time it was this cold here was 1989. Ridiculous.

Airport went from 13F at 6am to 15 at 7am really strange. No less 13F ties 2010 and 2011 for coldest temperature since 1996. Off chance to cool some by 8am between readings before the yellow disk warms it up.

Made it down to 6 here. Low along I20 appears to be 5, north of I30 in NE TX is 4 and TX low is 0 as far as I can tell at Nocona unless I missed a sub 0 reading somewhere. For around here I believe this is the coldest since 1989.

I really hope today isnt one of those days we bust on temps. I think they typically bust when we have a cloud cover,(expecting bright sunshine) but today we need that temp to be right. Wont be above freezing for long.

3 here. Hot and cold water lines to the washing machine are froze up. There shouldn't be a ton of pressure on those lines so hopefully they don't bust. However, they are copper..
