On the bright side at least we werent forecast to get buried and get screwed like some people to the east. Atlanta is struggling with rain mixing. Raleigh is struggling to changeover and had clown maps with them getting a foot

It is my fault. Somehow or another, the Omega Block that has dominated the Austin area the past 10 years got displaced to North Texas. It has been corrected and won't happen again.

I feel bad too.. I am in Del Rio TX and it snowed all around except on us. I am thinking its a mesoscale effect of Lake Amistad...

Here's my last batch of pictures from last night. The Snow Cave is back to being the Rain Cave.

I'm so happy for you guys down there!!!!!! To put it into perspective: we've been waiting for this event ever since the our Texas winter weather group was formed! Enjoy every minute of it you guys. This is quite the weather miracle today!

For us in North Texas, I'm really not bummed out at all about missing this. I can remember multiple snow events over the past decade that were modeled to hit South or Central Texas and ended up busting down there and dumping an unexpected snowstorm on DFW instead. It's about damn time things actually broke for the underdogs. We'll get ours in due time. :froze:

I know this is the Texas thread but thought I would share some pics of what we got down here in Gonzales, which is just south of Baton Rouge. Easily 4-5 inches before started to melt. Most I've even seen here. Don't care if we don't see another threat this winter couldn't ask for a better day.

Such a beautiful day in North Texas. A pleasant 48 degree, sunny day with no wind to speak of. All these ingredients lead me to believe another freeze is on tap overnight. Let's make it three in a row. Too bad 70's are in the near future. Looks like the arctic could reload more to the west with the Christmas timeframe in the works. Having two winter patterns within the same month sounds good to me.
Looking at places in south Texas and the Deep South getting hammered with sleet and snow today makes me a little envious. Our time will come..... :froze:

CYCLONE MIKE, those are amazing pictures. Any Louisiana posts are welcome in the Texas thread, we are neighbors!! Nice to see our neighbors to the right getting in on the winter fun. Winter is a lot of fun on Storm2K. Thanks to all for making it that way.

Thanks. Funniest thing is our local TV Mets down played this up through last night. Said we could possibly get up to 1/2 an inch to 1 inch locally at best. Guess I can't blame them though, in years past when all models were showing us getting hammered we received next to nothing so they probably just played the odds. Know it's not an official measuring board but this is our hammock about 2 hours before it tapered off

Yes early next week. Mild pattern actually briefly. Nothing record breaking but string of above normal with intermittent fronts

Enjoyed all the pictures, I have some that I may post later from this area but am having some trouble with the phone.

It's 33F here already, only reached 39 today, I think the forecast was for 47.

Hope this works, first time I'm trying to post a youtube video here.

This is how heavily it was snowing near downtown Houston during the night! I did not sleep much at all, completely worth it for such a good snow event! It was pretty rough at work especially after lunch.....

I have an old Iphone and it's been heck trying to get old drivers to work and for windows to recognize the old Iphone. The 19 year old princess always gets the upgrades 8-)

The net is to keep birds off my porch.

Making up for the clouds last night being slow to clear and holding us at 30 until 5am before dropping to 25. Tonight we dropped below freezing around 7pm and we are down to 24 as of 10pm. Wonder how low we will go? DP is 17 here.
