Especially not in December.

Flakes getting larger here in SW Houston. We're on the leading edge of the snow. My thermometer says 40 degrees.

I am so happy for south Texas right now. This is what being a weather fan is all about!

Thanks so much for the pics. They go a long way when it’s not happening in your area. Think snow!

It started snowing here around 5pm. It was 42. Never dropped below 33, yet it still accumulated on vegetation, furniture, and structures. 34 now.

Looks like the models were all spot-on as far as the vertical temperature profile. The snow just reached Victoria. Light snow at my house for the past 90 minutes. Temperature 38 degrees, so it isn't sticking. Should get heavier before it ends in 4-6 hours.

It is definitely snowing in Houston! Temperature is 37F and falling slowly but surely - but at the moment it's not accumulating even on cars. Waiting for the next band of snow, that one might accumulate.

Friend of mine in Conroe said it's been snowing for over an hour and a half, trying to get them to send a pic. :)

Been snowing here since 9:30. It's almost 12:30 now.
Starting to stick to roofs, trees, cars, and a little bit on the grass. Down to 34 degrees now.

32F in NW Harris County with moderate snow. Rooftops, grassy surfaces and cars have about an inch accumulation...and still snowing.

Still getting very light flurry here. Guess that means clouds are having trouble clearing. Maybe only drop to upper 20s tonight here. Should see similar tomorrow night again.

What happened in CS this evening reminds us of why we always have hope for winter surprises. Glad that it does not seem like there will be many busts on the low end of the forecast with this event.
