Yes you did good sir yes you did! A man of your word!

Great pictures! Having the snow after sun down is likely only helping it stick on surfaces.

Sorry that you won't get much with this first storm of the season, Ntxw. You'll have to wait until after Christmas, I'm afraid.

:uarrow: Looking at the radar, there is a decent snow band which was right over Austin. I would not be shocked at all if you get an inch or so to coat the surfaces. I am happy for all the Storm2Kers down in South Texas getting the snow this evening

Lots of reports from around the metro area of snow and sleet mixing with the rain. Kudos to wxman57. He delivered!

I DO think that there will be significant snow across Texas NEXT winter. Even in Austin...

I believe in a later post I mentioned the 2nd or 3rd week of December was when you would see snow. I come through for my friends, and it's not even winter yet.

Beautiful. Wxman, youre the man and a great sport.

I'm patient and optimistic! It's worth the trade off for folks to the south, chances there is once a generation. My analogs say you will deliver with some outstanding January cold :D. Plus when it snows down south in early December, bodes well for here later in winter.

So are we expecting this band to fill in at is approaches the Houston area? It seemed like models sort of showed that, but the precip is further NW than indicated. May be a good sign of things to come?

I think another band will fill in actually. I think the snow shield could be quite large. Our dewpoints JUST started to drop, which is good, step 1, now we wait on the precip.

:uarrow: Ive been thinking the same thing also...with the precipitation "shield" being larger than what the models were showing, there could be more snow for a larger area than what was expected maybe...

I know all the action is down south(finally!) but up here I think we have a chance to get to below freezing before midnight. Then we get our first freeze, and statistically 2 days with a freeze. I would gladly take the snow instead.

333 days, I'm tired of hearing about it

Hopefully the last one won't be on January 8th like last year, still a ridiculous stat...

Easterwood has wet bulbed all the way down to freezing as of the last ob. It's not accumulating on pavement, but it is on everything else. The 30 dbZ band is still just to my NW too. This has already blown all of my expectations away.

Took more pics. Drier air is starting to filter in, the snow is not as large and wet as it was earlier.

1.25 mile visibility in Austin last hour. Usually means moderate snowfall
