As a Georgian who has mostly struck out on snow recently, I'm watching with both happiness and envy for those of you who managed to cash out on this system. Hopefully we get a bit of a pattern shift so that we both manage to get some snow from one of these things

Yeah I had really considered going east and seeing it at night but I don't think I could have topped this to be in the daytime like this and the rates were blowing me away plus to be home by night lol. It looks like Waco reported 4-5 inches which is about double Abilene's chase too and that's about the tops of my snowstorms of the last 25 years tbh
But like I said earlier I so wish it had happened in the metroplex
It appears Stephenville was the winner at 8 inches..lucky dogs again lol
Glad to see you found a good spot. Awesome pics my friend.

So cool to see that most of our winter weather lovers got some snow today. Hopefully there will be more systems coming in the near future. Maybe one of those will give DFW their fair share of the fun.

Unfortunately it's usually difficult for both Georgia and Texas to cash in on the same winter storm. Storms that hit Texas usually cut further west and snow storms that hit Georgia and the Mid Atlantic states are usually too progressive to produce good snow in Texas when it passes through. The one exception is when Texas gets their nasty ice storms with a deep long wave trough that introduces an overrunning event. In this case the trough is often oriented in a positive tilt and may not kick until it gets farther east. You often see a secondary low form in these storms after the first one cuts up to the lakes and in that case you can get a snow storm up the east coast.

As the snow begins to end from west to east, I thought you might all enjoy reading over this. Lots of Texas snow history that we have had over the last few decades.

Things just haven't been the same in DFW since the weather witch disappeared. Ever since 57 has had full control at keeping the cold to the north and the few times it does escape DFW can't cash in. 2009-2015 was a heck of a run for DFW though.

Not to be greedy, but is it safe to assume that San Antonio won’t see snow again until Winter 2021-22? I just want to see all of San Antonio blanketed in snow like 2017 so all San Antonians Can enjoy it!

Some good returns showing on radar to our northwest. Will it make it? Something to stay up for if it's even making it to the surface.

There’s another chance for some snow next weekend but most people on here don’t really wanna talk about it after how badly the models screwed them over.

Up to a little over 2" on the north side of Longview, TX. Still snowing, but should be ending fairly soon, other than any overnight bands.

not to worry I'm sure it'll find a way to miss DFW
getting it out of the way now

We certainly can't rule out another risk of snow this winter. The pattern still looks to be pretty favorable for some snow somewhere across Texas over the next few weeks.

Captmorg70, sorry about today. My kids left the back door open, guess we heated up Ponder.

Seems to be dissipating about halfway thru Denton co.. North Fort Worth, North Tarrant will also be screwed on this one. The only way to rectify this is another event which dumps 10 inches on my area and an inch on everyone else, just because. And none for anyone south of Burleson and west of FW

Another ULL crosses the state tomorrow night though it will be moisture starved. Maybe some light rain for central Texas tomorrow evening and maybe some sprinkles or flurries tomorrow night for E and SE Texas.
