Just checked out the forecast for Sugar Mountain and it looks really windy and cold!! Temps will be in the 30's there tonight with NW winds reaching over 50 mph! :o Even tomorrow will not get out of the 40's. Now that is an abrupt change!!

Sounds pretty nasty! Only expecting wind gusts to be about 40-45 MPH here later tonight and tomorrow.

Well, that wind will certainly blow some cold air this way. We are currently at 75 right now, and the low here is expected to be 43! Add on the 15-25mph winds and you will definitely be reminded of what season it is!

It was reported a couple of nights ago that Grandfather Mountain had a wind gust of 110 mph and Boone, NC reported an 80 mph wind gust after the passage of the strong front.

Someone on WWBB posted that the other day, and I forgot to mention it. Definitely some serious wind gusts!! :o I heard the sustained wind on Grandfather Mountain was 70mph! I could only imagine what the wind chill would be if that were to happen a couple months from now!
