Jim Cantore

Jim Cantore was up in North Carolina doing his live shot. Quite the dynamic system down there.

Yeah they should have sent him to Charlotte, what is the deal with the Weather Channel all but ignoring Charlotte? Hey we are the biggest city outside Atlanta in the Southeast. Maybe because they would expose their horrible forecast for this storm. For what ever reason they had rain from Charlotte to the East, South and North. With the heavy snow just in the mountains, nice forecast weather channel computers!!!! :-)

Great pics Brad! I grew up in North Carolina but I can't imagine trying to navigate up there with 12"+ on the ground. I bet there are a bunch of happy kids today! :-)

That's Nothing

Our Illustrious Channel 4 OCM in Tucson last night said that nothing much was happening in the eastern US except for a little bit of light snow in the Carolinas.

The continued proof that The Weather Channel shouldn't exclusively use the MM5 model.

You're probably lucky that Jim Cantore didn't go to Charlotte - he's cursed! Everytime they send him out to report on a major storm, it misses him!

Enjoy it! The pictures are great.

Brad

Awesome pictures... this must truly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for residents of Charlotte. My aunt/uncle/cousins live in Rock Hill SC where the maximum snowfall report came out of... 18 inches last I checked. I have to admit I'm pretty envious after they, living in South Carolina, have exceeded my seasonal snowfall in both the 2001-2002 winter and this winter.

I know! We were SO CLOSE! Oh well, as it was said in many posts, we can't have 1993 or 1996 every year (or even 2003 for that matter)! :D

Thanks for the great pics and post wxbrad! Amazing snowfall indeed for that area! Like those in the DC area snowfall has been pretty scarce this winter here with mainly alot of small events. Biggest so far has been 6 inches.

Still got March yet so who knows! Maybe can squeeze in one big event for the OV (Including here where i am at) before its all over and done with!

Kinda really amazing when you consider that this storm as dropped more snow in Charlotte, NC then Columbus, OH has seen all winter! Thats amazing in itself!
