Okay, well, both Bastardi and aggiecutter are promising relief by month’s end. I’m holding them to it.

The high at the Weatherdude headquarters has reached 102. It has since dropped to 101.

I find we rarely if ever get as hot as what they predict for Austin, which they predicted would be 105 today.

I guess it's all of those McCondos downtown absorbing the infrared radiation.

Yeah Austin reached 105 today. You're cooler for some reason. I reached 104.7

Interesting! My sensor is located under an overhang on front porch, but low enough to get air through there.

The nearest 7 reporting Weather Underground stations to my location range from 99 to 105, which seems to be the general trend in the Austin area.

:uarrow: Unfortunately for cold lovers, the weather pattern changes that would make summers reliably FUN and EXCITING in Texas would also kill any chance of winter freezes.

It's cool enough to sit out in the backyard. Not sure why pic is sideways.

One more day of this Heat Wave then changes begin to take shape as the pesky Heat Ridge shifts West and a shortwave and an associated cool front drop out of the ArkLaTex on Tuesday setting the stage for a slight chance of showers/storms as the front actually pushes through.

A bit of Saharan Dust may inhibit chances Wednesday, but temperature will drop into the low to mid 90's with a chance of seabreeze/bay breeze showers/storms to end the work week.

Both the GFS and ECMWF suites of guidance suggest a deep longwave trough begin to take shape next week possibly bringing additional and possibly increasing rainfall chances as we near the end of July. Climatology suggest this may be the last of the extreme Heat for the summer season as we begin that slow but steady march toward Fall.

PWS in my Hood is showing 108 right now. I have to assume it’s accurate.

109 at DFW again today, with Houston Bush (IAH) hitting 100 for the first time this year. More record high temperatures set in Austin and SA today as well. I hate heat waves...

Yeah, just got word that Austin Mabry got to 106, beating out 104 set in 2011 on this date. ABIA got to 105. I only got to a chilly 104. Hotter tomorrow. Can't wait! But relief by Tuesday. Closer to 100. But, at least the low temps were normal! :cheesy:

DFW may have missed the 110 mark but Dallas Love Field hit 112 yesterday.

Trough forecasted is not looking as impressive on the Euro as prior days, but still there...I guess.

16 100F or higher days so far with at least a week's worth more to go. We are about close to a summer's average of those already and more than the past few summers.
