Virtually no rain in DFW despite a deceptive radar. Only .11 so far IMBY. Not that we need it really.

I bet others have gotten way more than that.

Medium range guidance suggest continued troughing in the middle of the continent, which should spell reasonable May temperatures, not hot. Some signs of Mexican ridging bubbling near the end of the month that may be the precursor to the annual Sonoran heat ridge but nothing unusual, yet.

Another awful day down here with ridiculous dew points and zero precip. Bring on the high pressure and dry weather please- it’s not like we are getting out of the drought anytime soon anyway. But man screw this crap.

Refuses to rain south of 30 deg N.

Define "in DFW," because Denton County's under a Flash Flood Warning...

High pressure doesn’t do much of anything for humidity relief where I live.

It didn't in DFW last year. Usually the hotter it gets the lower the humidity up here. Summer 2023 was the worst heat/humidity combo I've ever felt. Never again please

Mainly the core. Sure, northern burbs got a lot. Down here everything evaporated as it got closer.

We didn't get much here in Plano either...

Which I'm ok with. I'm more so irritated about the lack of sun.

Latest extended HRRR looks promising for parts of South-Central Texas tomorrow. Eventually the rain will fall for those of us in this region. Yes, it's been frustrating as of late to be under the rain free dome over the past few weeks in particular, but as is the case down here living in flash flood alley, when we bust out of these droughts often times it comes with a too much too fast price tag. With an active hurricane season expected, it's just a matter of time. The week ahead still looks active.

Interesting that the latest ENSO guidance seems to be hedging toward a delayed onset of La Nina, so maybe the summer torch might be muted somewhat?

Picking up a bit more in Tarrant. Over .40. Over 3 inches for May IMBY.

1.26" so far today in Longview and it's not quite done yet. Nice soaking rain.

I think tomorrow's severe threat is going to get pushed farther south/east again. Models not looking impressive (IMO) due to lingering precip tonight/tomorrow morning across areas of eastern Texas.

DFW got a few late bursts and made it up to 0.87”. Personally I enjoyed what is surely going to be the last day in the 60s until somewhere near Halloween.

SPC out with an MD. Watch likely for SA metro as storms continue to develop and intensify out west.

Some of these storms could be quite damaging today. The atmosphere is very unstable is someone is liking going to get some very large hail and possibly hurricane force wind gusts. Hopefully these storms just bring some much needed rainfall, but I'm afraid some areas are gonna get hit hard.

Agreed. Not a good sign that these have already gone severe in the early morning hours.
