FWIW, despite all of the precipitation, DFW is still on track for a top 10 warmest Spring on record. To-date, the temperature departure is 68.6*F, which as a matter of fact, ties with 2022...

With respect to total rainfall at DFW, Spring 2024 isn't even close to cracking the top 10 wettest list (*ONLY* 15.85" to-date)...

Did it for 7 years when first moving to Texas. Great people. Awful scenery and weather. Have weather and trees now but the awful DFW traffic.

Looks like one more chance of some rain next week before the ridge takes over for good.

I haven't looked at the numbers but I would imagine that the warmth is being primarily driven by lows getting hung up b/c of all the humidity.

Also, WPC is highlighting North Texas in both the D4 & D5 ERO

The overnight lows have been running warm, but I wouldn't say that's the primary reason as the average highs for March / April / May have also been solidly above average.

Although we haven't had any extreme heat or record-breaking temps ala Spring 2022, we've also had very few "cold" days this Spring. The last freeze was 2/18 and sub-70*F highs have been limited at best.

Probably an EF3 or 4 on the ground in OK now.

Monster supercell that dropped a huge wedge earlier about to move into OKC metro, looks like the circulation is intensifying

I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC, NWS, or SPC for official information.

Such a unique radar presentation with the circulation so far away from the rest of the cell. Union city abt to get it.

The latest CPC forecast keeps the rain around into the beginning of June, and it’s looking better for the southern and western part of the state as well.

The forecast high from NWS for Austin on Sunday is 98.

I'm not ready for spring to be over.

I don’t see a repeat of last summer. I think temps this summer will be closer to average.

Enjoy this wetter pattern while you can this year because it still appears with a fully-coupled La Nina atmosphere and our never-ending -PDO, the Spring of 2025 will be much drier for SCTX & SETX next year. As you already know, I've been looking ahead to 2025 for over the past year now. Hopefully, I get proven wrong this time next year.

Except it really hasn’t been a wet pattern for me. I’ve only had 1.25” in the past month.

That is true, likewise for SCTX where several systems underperformed concerning accumulations. Hopefully, you along with SCTX can benefit from an active tropical pattern this summer and fall during times when the MX Ridge relaxes and allows easterlies into our regions...minus any major tropical cyclones of course.

Awfully quiet in here for some storm chances looking to pop over the next few days.

Where did everyone go?

Can't speak for others, but I'm pretty much over this severe weather season.

This isn't meant to be dismissive towards how active (or even destructive) it's been for places such as Houston and OKC, but from a weenie/tracking-perspective, this year has been quite underwhelming for DFW proper and I'm exhausted from all of the teasing we've had.

I'm all in on Summer mode (enjoying the warm mornings, ample sunshine and long days) now.

Tomorrow and Saturday look really bad for y’all in NTX. Are y’all sleeping or just don’t care? Have y’all all of a sudden lost your passion for the weather? Lol

Looks to be nasty tomorrow.

Radar shows a thin line coming in, is that a front?

Per FWD I thought that would arrive tomorrow.

There have been several setups this season that looked good on paper but failed to execute/deliver for various reasons (thus emphasis on the "exhaustion from teasing" mentioned in my reply).

At this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

I mean, I wouldn’t let your guard down just cuz of failed past events. DFW can get some crazy severe weather. Way worse than my part of the state.
