The squall line of storms weakened as they.came through the Northeast Florida area, so for this round of storms, we appear to have escaped any severe wx for now. Now we await for the next batch of potential shortwave energy (squall line/ or convective complex) that will move in later overnight/ pre dawn hours of Sunday.

Yes indeed. Especially tomorrow. Models showing a potential powerful squall line which will be developing ahead from a deepening mid/upper level low pressure system which will be moving into Northern Alabama by 18Z tomorrow. This squall line looks to really pack a punch as it moves through Georgia and North and Central Florida during the day tomorrow. I am very fearful of many tornado reports for tomorrow, and straight line wind damage as well. Also hail reports will be numerous.

Models are showing that the worst of the weather should move through the Atlanta metro area from 12Z-18Z, so that would be mostly during the pre-game activities. But, it is possible the timing of the storms may come a bit later. It is possible the worst ciuld occur during the game. Hopefully everyone will be safe heading to the game or at the site. Great to have the game played indoors. Also the final game ever to be played in the old Georgia Dome tomorrow.

It sounds like they are pretty serious about upgrading to a High Risk. This would be the first High Risk since 2014, if I am not mistaken.

In addition, I have to wonder how many High Risks there have been in Florida.

Personally, looking at the dynamic set-up this morning and the helicity analysis for this morning, I have to really express my deep and profound concerns for high likelihood for tornadoes will be today across the region, especially South Gergia and North Florida region.

I think SPC needs to elevate to very high risk for today. I have not seen such a volatile and hostile set-up for this area for severe wx and tornadoes in a long time. Very dangerous situation today for our region.

NWS. just reported that tornado did touchdown just south of Alma, GA and radar is currently indicating a tornado just southeest of Waycross.

The report of the tornado near Alma is just coming across, so too early yet about reports of injuries and God forbid, casualties. We should get some word about this shortly.
