I've seen some posts on social media suggesting that the center of the remnants of Imelda will move north a bit longer before turning westward and moving over either Limestone or Navarro county. Any truth to these statements?

Praying for our neighbors just east of us here in Houston. Another catastrophic flood event ongoing once again this morning...just 2 years after Harvey decimated the area.

10 to 20 inches has fallen in this particular flash flood??! Doesn't seem right that we're praying for drops, while they're drowning, praying and hoping for a break. :(

BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED
Flash Flood Warning
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
700 AM CDT Thu Sep 19 2019

...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN SAN JACINTO,
EAST CENTRAL MONTGOMERY, CHAMBERS, AND LIBERTY COUNTIES...

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southwestern San Jacinto County in southeastern Texas...
East central Montgomery County in southeastern Texas...
Chambers County in southeastern Texas...
Liberty County in southeastern Texas...

* Until 1100 AM CDT.

* At 654 AM CDT, emergency management has reported flash flooding
across the warned area. There are ongoing numerous water rescues,
structural flooding in portions of Liberty and Chambers Counties,
and numerous road closures. 10 to 20 inches of rainfall has fallen
so far with locally higher amounts in Liberty and Chambers
Counties. Additional heavy rainfall is expected.

THIS IS A FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR PORTIONS OF SAN JACINTO,
MONTGOMERY, CHAMBERS, AND LIBERTY COUNTIES. THIS IS A PARTICULARLY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Conroe, Liberty, Cleveland, Dayton, Willis, Anahuac, Panorama
Village, Splendora, Patton Village, Roman Forest, Woodbranch, Old
River-Winfree, Cut And Shoot, Ames, Daisetta, Hardin, Plum Grove,
Kenefick, Cove and Devers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now. This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation.
Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Terrible situation with the flooding.

I made a post back in the Spring thread when all the rain was in NW Texas early in the year that far SE Texas was going to be the top dog in terms of rainfall as they always do. Climo is climo for a reason and like clockwork the state rainfall to date maps follows climo.

It has been just lightly misting all morning here in Frisco, which has been very welcome and feels great, but I know it’s at the cost of the horrible flooding down in SE TX...praying that this all ends up okay.

Is there a working radar for DFW? My apps don’t seem to be working.

Dark as night over here in Houston. The office is about to get slammed. Hope it clears up this afternoon so I can get home! I'm expecting a quick 3-6 inches over the next few hours across much of Houston.

Radar is quite impressive around Houston proper.

1st half of September was punishment for the cool June for North Texas. Most days over 95 since records began. (every day I believe). Summer was hottest on record for northern hemisphere. 5 hottest Augusts on record have all been since 2014.

Stay safe over there! And send some of that rain our way ... notice I said *some* of that rain.

I'm trying my hardest..some models show the western part of the Houston band breaking off and heading towards Austin and SA. I hope it happens!

DFW airport got a new record for September on the 16th, first time ever (since 1889) the first 16 days of the month recorded a high of 95 or better.

Climo FTW

It’s beginning to flood here at my job in Rosenberg. Sounds like a war with all the thunder going almost nonstop.

Eyeballing development out to our west. I guess it's developing along a convergence boundary between the SW side of Imelda (NW winds here) and the SE flow off the Gulf. I'm hoping that convergence boundary isn't too far to my south. Seems to be sagging southeast, parallel to my area. That would really be an insult to injury.

My company's main office sent everyone home at lunch. They are located at 610 and 10. Underground parking garage was beginning to flood as the rain overwhelmed the pumps. Now several are stuck on the roads.
