A brief 5 minute downpour...though temperatures
were excessively hot today...
Official records showed low to mid 90s...
however, many personal
weather stations in the area recorded
highs even higher.
http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin ... burg%2C+flAt my own location the temperatures have been very hot.

It rained here 3 times yesterday (Wednesday) and the rain chances were only 30%.
Got a total of 1/2".
Now lets see what it does today with rain chances of 60%.
Hope you get some rain soon feederband!

Crossing my fingers for you feederband!
Looks like one is trying to pop up out my back door. Sure is black out that way.
Edit
Yup, popped right on top of me. Real close lightning for a while too. Still some light rain and thankfully the power is back on.
Bring some buckets feederband - I'll share with you!

Ah, that one was too small anyway.
I got an idea - run out and wash your car. Maybe that will work.

Yeah it wasn't a keeper......
Didn't even give me a tenth of rain...Well at least I don't have to water the plants like I've done all week...

...FLOOD IMPACT...A FEW AREA RIVERS HAVE BEGUN TO RISE WELL TO THE EAST AND
SOUTHEAST OF TAMPA BAY. WHILE THE LEVELS ARE CURRENTLY WELL BELOW
FLOOD STAGE...SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW OF LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
DUMPING INTO THE RIVER BASINS WOULD CREATE A MORE STEADY WATER
LEVEL RISE. WHILE RIVER FLOODING IN POLK...HARDEE...AND DESOTO
COUNTY APPEARS UNLIKELY...IT WOULD ONLY TAKE A FEW DAYS IN A ROW
WITH HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS THAT PRODUCE SEVERAL INCHES OF RAIN EACH
TO POTENTIALLY ALLOW SOME RIVERS TO EXCEED FLOOD STAGE.
RESIDENTS ALONG OR NEAR AREA RIVERS SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR
NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR RIVER STATEMENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION
THROUGH THE WEEK.
That is what we need to recharge these aquifers and the big lake.. Sorry but someone has to suffer. We got maybe .25" this last week.. They have no less than 40% daily for the next week. There could be a real rainy season if it happens..

All the rain has missed me...aside from tropical storm barry
june 2007 was the driest june ever in the last 15 years
at my house...people in western saint pete
got tons of rain this month but I got almost
none except short lived drizzle and one or two
storms right after barry....
So dry as a bone and very hot like
a desert except humid and the seabreezes
give me bad drought luck so no rain
no rain no rain
