Space Shuttle Disaster

#1 Postby One Eye » Sat Feb 01, 2003 11:34 am

I know its not weather related but its just horrible that another disaster has happened to our space program. I pulled up the radar on NWS Dallas long range loop and there is a clear debris and vapor trail just east of Dallas streching to NE Louisiana. Our prayers will be with the familys.

It truly is a tragic day that will go down in history. I've been glued to the tv all morning and I can see the vapor trail on radar stretching into louisiana just north of me. My mother actually heard the explosion around 8am and I have heard that our local met. was able to see the shuttle break up here in Lafayette (he was on cbs this morning).

Columbia Doppler Radar Images

#4 Postby Scott_inVA » Sat Feb 01, 2003 10:57 pm

During the day while at work I tried to save as many images as possible showing the "debris field".

I published several along with a couple loops.

If anybody wants these, they are available at:
