Insane heat in far Northern Quebec today... Kuujjuaq at 25C (with a humidex of 26C), Umiujaq and Kuujjuarapik at 27C. Needless to say, the records were smashed.

89F was a record for June 3 here.

That is absolutely staggering, the heat up there has been amazing. I kept seeing Goose Bay near the high 20s in late May and thought no way. Even more, Yellowknife weeks ago was the hottest spot in all of western Canada...how does this happen!?!?

Another day of insane heat in far Northern Quebec... Kuujjuaq, Kuujjuarapik and Umiujaq at 25C(77F) today, Inukjuak at 22C(71.6F).

Despite the warmth, as warm as 16C 60F at Kimmirut (Lake Harbor) in Southern Nunavut Tuesday (southern coast of Baffin Island) (average Jun 5 high is 6C 43F) ..and very long days... the harbour/ bay in Kimmirut is still iced over and there remains snow cover in the nearby mountain passes.
