Looks like it will be 11/22 for me with another chance on 11/23. Most in the South will see it on 11/23.

Looks like I could miss ours by one day. Current forecasts are for a freeze on Sunday morning for a lot of the Houston metro area North of I-10 which includes the station at IAH. :cold: :froze:

Well, it looks like on Tuesday morning (Nov 24) the forecast minimum right now is for 38 degrees. Looks as if my prediction of Nov. 23 will not come to pass. However, not a bad effort on my part since I went close with the average date of seeing the first freeze here in Jax.

Might see our first frost this season Tuesday morning however as winds are forecast to become light as High pressure axis moves in closer to the North Florida area.

My, I was close with my initial first freeze predix. It actually got to 36.7 degrees this morning at my locale, a full 5 degrees colder than what MOS initially forecast. So,itlooks as if I will miss possibly by just one day off my initial predix of 11/23. It is possible that interior areas like my locale of Northeast Florida tomorrow morning may touch the freeze mark as lighter to calm winds should allow excellent radiational cooling conditions by tomorrow morning.

Oh well, still a pretty good forecast when I made it back in October.

Many areas across the Deep South finally did see their first freeze this morning for sure as looking at obs, temps dropped into the mid-upper 20s across much of North AL, North GA and 20s and lower 30s reported from obs throughout the Carolinas. The freeze line dropped almost to the I-10 corridor this morning.

And I missed it! I could tell it wsn't going to happen(one day later) when I headed to bed and the temp fall had slowed, did a jump back up a degree then started a very slow lowering again. Final was 35f for the lowest for Houston. Probably going to be at or around our normal time Dec. 5 plus or minus a few.
