PAH can't seem to figure out where the icing line will be or who will get how much. Temps are generally forecast for 35 or above, so there should be a whole lot. Most estimates are under 1/4" for those that get any at all.

Me? I don' need no steeeenking ice.

Current forecast for next Friday, 1/20: "Friday A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 69."

I guess we'll see.

Ya' know, the water doesn't have to be On or Off for extended periods causing Flood or Drought. They make timers that can turn the tap on for a few hours every couple of days.

We've got some minor flooding around here as well.

This up and down weather is really "helping" colds and flu.

These swings between upper 60s and lower 40s for highs are kind of weird.

Why is January so volatile? July and August are quite stable for temperatures. You'd think the heart of Winter would be more stable like the heart of Summer is.

January 20th and I've been able to be outside in a tank top and shorts doing yardwork and not uncomfortable. A tad bit unusual.

the average snowfall through January 29th in Paducah, KY is around 5.2” and in Evansville, IN is around 7.3”. We have picked up a meager 0.2” so far this season in Paducah and 0.4” in Evansville!

Looking back at all years in the period of record in Paducah, dating back to 1938, there have been 12 years where we had 1.0" of snow or less this far into the season. 9 of those 12 winters finished with 3.0" or less (well below normal seasonal snowfall), 2 finished near normal (7.9" in 1957-1958 and 9.9" in 1974-1975), and 1 year finished above normal (13.7" in 1970-1971).

We've had two dustings of snow, that's about it.

Now passed the coldest part traditionally. Average temps now start to rise from 36 the first week of February to 43 the last week.

I haven't used hardly any propane so far and not a lot of wood either.

I'm not liking the Slight Risk for Monday and Tuesday. I cold use some rain to water in the new grass seed, but I don't need storms to wash or blow it away.

I have no idea what season it is. There must have been 40 or 50 Robins in my yard to0day. Everywhere I looked there were groups of 5 or 6.

Yes, I put the Hibiscus outside on February 18. They were getting cabin fever inside and with temps forecast to be between 50 and 75 for the next week and a mix of Sunny and rain, I figured why not?

Yes, they're close to the door so I can bring them back in if necessary.

If you believe the models, looks like we will be well above normal for a week, return to normal for a few days, then pop back above.

You know this means we will have a hard freeze once everything buds out.

Showing cooler now by the 24th, so they'll have to come back in. But they'll have several days of Sun to make them feel better.
