Apart from the High Risk area,the Moderate Risk zone is very large so those in the states warned,be prepared and stay safe.

Just talked to the family in Tuscaloosa. They said the sun is starting to peek out. Just curious why the moderate isn't farther to the west? Better dynamics to the east?

Numerous tornadoes expected with a few intense tornadoes likely
Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5
inches in diameter likely

SUMMARY...Intense supercell thunderstorms are expected to develop
this afternoon over the watch area, posing a risk of strong
tornadoes. Large hail and damaging winds are possible as well.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 85 statute miles
north and south of a line from 20 miles west southwest of Dothan AL
to 45 miles east of Augusta GA. For a complete depiction of the

Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

SUMMARY...Scattered severe thunderstorms will spread into coastal
South Carolina/southern North Carolina over the next few hours.
Damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats but isolated
tornadoes are also possible.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 50 statute miles
either side of a line from 35 miles southwest of Florence SC to 40
miles east northeast of Myrtle Beach SC. For a complete depiction of

I'm on the edge of the Slight and all I've seen is a lot of wind. Very little rain even, spotty sun and clouds, but the wind will take your hat off.

Currently 11 TOR and 23 SVR warnings, but many of them are in the northern part of the Moderate.
