Damn. Gosh darn damn. Sorry for the harsh language but the prospect of 100's is really depressing me. Mid 90's is bad enough thank you very much. Only so long you can hold out when August is several days away. Summer is just too long for any real lengthy period when 100's do not make an appearance. Wake me in September.

Gust front outflow just moved through. Not sure it'll rain today. I'll be in the Sierra Nevada mountains of CA from the 26th of July to August 5th. So sorry to miss the 100s. :cheesy:

The waterfalls I heard are spectacular right now in CA from all the snowpack. Looking forward to seeing it!

This will make the second consecutive day when an outflow boundary robbed us from getting rain. This summer is starting to really suck.

Barring some unforeseen rain, late this week we will likely collect a string of 100s

Not much to add today. Looks hot. May see some heat advisories later this week into next week. I suspect dew points will remain high and 105+ index with real temps hovering 100

Summer is coming... from FWD:

A prolonged summer heat wave will be the story through the
extended portion of the forecast, and probably through the end of
the month.

It was bound to happen. Glad it waited until late July to take hold.

I got a BIG FAT 0 on rainfall over the weekend, as a matter of fact I don't think it rained a single drop in Tarrant County. Either way the REAL summer has started, as it was only a matter of time before the big old HP system setup shop over Texas. :sun:

Thankfully nothing over 95 forecasted for E Tx though I bet some see 97/98 in spots where the rain has not been as plentiful recently.

It is likely a forecast that will progressively gets warmer as the high settles in. Coolest areas will be where dew points are highest but humidity will make up for it

Only 93 here. Dew point is 70 with 48% humidity. The actual temp may not be that hot but it is terrible feeling outside. I thought for once, maybe we will get lucky up here and avoid the typical Texas summer. Doesn't look like it. I'm hoping despite what a few maps and early forecasts have shown, that this fall gets here sooner and is actually cool this year. As the years go on, the heat just annoys me more and more.

Interesting little video blog put out by Bob Rose to put the question to the test:

Is there a dome over Austin that keeps storms away?

https://youtu.be/WFVjC6N0p8o

It applies to all urban heat islands.

Don formed in the deep Atlantic. It will get sheared and poof once it hits the Carib. I mention this because the last Don of the century was infamous for bringing no relief in 2011. Same here, no help. The name is cursed.
