12z Euro and some of its ensembles as well as the 12z GEFS looked promising for North Texas. The Euro main is my favorite of the bunch.

I was jogging around 5am this morning. Started sprinkling. About halfway through, I saw a flash of lightning in sky. I picked up my speed heading back towards house, and cut it short. As I got on my street, it started coming down moderate to heavy.

Got 0.25" out of it, taking my total to about 3" since the 4th. :D Low yesterday was 71, high of 93. Amazing how nice 71 and 93 feels when it has been 78 to 103 for the last however long.

Good work, weatherdude! Can you make sure to jog each morning around that same time every day?!

Interesting little factoids about Austin:

Recent rains are leading to a big jump in one type of allergen: mold has spiked at over 19,000 count Friday. This is the second-highest number seen by our partners at Allergy and Asthma Associates since they began keeping records in the late 1990s.

Austin's 1.70" of rainfall at Camp Mabry made this 4th of July the third wettest since 1898.

The last 4th of July as wet in Austin was in the bicentennial year, 1976. This Independence Day's rainfall almost matched the 1.77" that fell that day--the wettest Independence Day on record.

Rainfall totals varied from 1/2" to 3" across the Austin metro area. The heaviest rain fell over northwest Austin. Rain ended in most communities Wednesday evening just in time for fireworks displays. Some damage was seen in Williamson County, where a tornado briefly touched down, and in Kingsland.

That was a nice microburst in Roanoke N of Ft Worth with a 53 MPH gust recorded on the Briarwyck neighborhood weather station. It looked like a tropical storm for less than 8 minutes.

Curious again....why would the visible satellite show some sort of cumulonimbus cloud form over Corpus Christi TX bay and there is nothing out there but blue sky?

Curious if Yukon Cornelius got rain tonight(?). It looked like a decent amount of reds and yellows on radar were in the Falls area.

Couple of thunderstorms here in Denison yesterday evening. We ended up with .60 inches of rain, a lot of lightning and thunder, and some very gusty winds.

The western part of Grayson County had hail and was placed under a severe t-storm warning.

Rain in July, I’ll take it! :D

Finally a little bit! The heaviest storms went just north of me but we did end up picking up 1/4”. It soaked in pretty much immediately but hopefully it will help to green things up a little.
