Light rain and a cool 72 degrees this morning. Not a bad way to wake up.

DFW picked up about a third of a inch of rain this morning. Very cool, but muggy temps!

JB predicts a cold and snowy winter for the south and southeast. A personal observation, it looks like the DFW area will be left out once again. That area probably won't even see a flake. Go to the link below and click on Press/News at the top of page. Then, you will have to scroll to the top of the Press/News page to see the video(it's a freebie). BTW, it looks like the Austin area will get hammered again this year.

There is no way DFW sees snow. I will be leaving all of my tender plants on my north-facing front porch and I will be changing to racing slick tires on all of my cars. Snow can’t touch me.

Re: Texas Summer 2018
Unfortunately it seems that most of us in Austin missed out on the band of rain last night as the band disintegrated quite rapidly west of here. On the LCRA Hydromet website it looks like most of Austin saw absolutely zilch. I can confirm here in Southwest Austin I got 0.00". I'm hoping we get some action today with some daytime heating and various boundaries traversing the region this afternoon. Many locations in Austin (myself included) have recorded 0.00" in the last two weeks, so hopefully that streak breaks today.

Re: Texas Summer 2018
DFW airport is now above avg rainfall for August but still over 3" below normal for JJA. If you believe the Euro, DFW airport could get the JJA rainfall total up to near normal over the next week or so. This will be remembered by people who lived it as a hot dry summer in DFW but the record books might end up skewed by August lol

Got .80 overnight so I am up to 1.45, effectively the same amount as I got since the end of May.

Interesting, so far all the 12z models are showing 3-4"+ across DFW over next 48 hours or so.

Nice batch of rain just about 5 miles east of me heading toward DFW. Glad I got good stuff overnight.

It's been raining lightly all morning at the airport.
The record "lowest" high temp for today is 79F at DFW from 1906 (the infamous first of two summers with no 100s). Also the daily record rainfall is 3.57" also from 1906.
