Blending all the various model data puts DFW pretty close to 110 tomorrow, that is including the 00z HiRes models that have come out. Ughhhhhhh

It is also possible DFW may tie or break the highest minimum on record. 86F is the warmest low on record from 2011. Tonight's forecasted low is 85F. Next several nights have a shot.

How’s it possible for you guys up there to have temperatures 10 degrees warmer for lows than areas in southeast Texas? You’d think it would be the other way around. Lows here are forecasted to be in the mid 70’s. Just curious

My best guess is that it is hotter up here to start with and takes longer to cool off before things warm up again, we are also far away from the gulf (which in the summer time can actually be a cold air advecting source, compared to land).

Re: Texas Summer 2018
On Thursday, the NWS office at Austin/San Antonio issued its first ever Excessive Heat Warning. That warning is currently in place for the hours 2-8 p.m. through Sunday (will likely be added for Monday too). That makes NWS El Paso as the only Texas-based NWSFO which hasn't issued a heat advisory or warning. Interesting.
Meanwhile, I know we're stoopid hot here in the Austin area but you good folks in North Texas have it even worse. Try to keep cool this weekend!
I have a feeling that wxman57 is making us pay dearly for the snow last winter.

Cruel irony, or unusual punishment. Let's hope later next week shows something with moisture.
I'm hibernating in my house with the blinds shut this weekend. I guess the Grey Goose I'll save for Winter.

West of Austin in Dripping Springs and we are pegged for 106 on Monday with currently "just" a heat advisory.
We are usually about 2-3 degrees cooler than Austin throughout the year despite only being about 20 miles from downtown Austin. The morning temps in the lower 70s have really helped even though it was still 100 here at 8:00 pm last night.
Looks like Austin is forecasted to be 108 on Monday with an Excessive Heat warning in place. Still better than folks in other parts of the state, but brutal.
Had a turkey and it's tiny offspring come up this morning to drink out of the big water dish we've put down for wildlife and expect to see more throughout the next few days like we did in 2011.

I remember one summer in June in the mid-90s, I was in Lubbock for summer school. It got up to 114 (a record high for that time) in Lubbock. They had laid fresh asphalt down a day or two prior on the roads I was commuting on. The roads were literally oozing up tar, getting all over the cars traveling on it. I had to use about a entire can of Bug & Tar Remover to get the tar off of the side of my car. It was a MESS! I actually saw the tar oozing out of the road in places.
Id say that’s definitely extreme. My daughter didn’t believe that an egg could be fried on the blacktop.....until yesterday..

I meant to say mid-1990s. Just realized that could have been mistaken for 90s temps.

I'm seeing a number of stations west of WF in the 110-116 range already. A number of 105-110 even into NW parts of DFW. 100-105 around here (Tyler). Some places are def gonna be seeing some top 10 highest temps ever readings today and tomorrow.

We’re driving through Quannah and it’s 111. Been 109 most of the way after leaving Amarillo.
