Nice gusts downtown Austin, can hear tons of unsecured construction material going for a ride from my vantage point.

Power went out for a minute here. Very windy with lots of lightning and heavy rain! My six year old daughter came in from her room crying. Had to console her for a bit. Letting up now some. Intense for the good part of an hour! I'll check gauge later.

I was in Downtown when it hit. The wind was just tearing through, I can attest to the many highrises under construction that materials were blown off of them. Yet I get home just 3.5 miles south and not much rain falling. Lots of lighting but feel like there is a doughnut hole right over the Rain Cave... Ugh...

I mean really??? This is ridiculous... I just want to find a way to grab the damn cloud and push it a little further south. There's development to the south now but a gap right over me. And what's more frustrating is the main storm is deteriorating.

Wow! I feel your pain JDawg. Happens to me a lot. So weird. It was fierce up here. I was out just now with the dog, and it doesn't feel like it rained. It's kind of warm and dry feeling, with a west wind(?). Anyway. Sorry about that.

I got just over 2 inches from the storms early this morning. :D Don't think my other local compadres faired as well based on JDawg's post. It was pretty fierce and intense. Lots of downed small twigs and leaves, and some trash cans blew open, scattering some trash around.

We can’t even buy a drop of rain up this way. Grazing pastures are drying up and turning brown, wheat and hay quality is terrible and watering holes are slowly getting smaller and smaller. In the ag world, thoughts are turning to 2011. Not good.

Crazy boundary interactions across Texas last night as eastward and westward moving MCS setoff chaos across the state.

I noticed that boundary that moved through us from the east was on a bee line for the boundary to the west in west central Texas. I was wondering where the collision course would set up. That stuff that hit us created a southwestward moving outflow towards SA. I don't know how they figure out where the battle zone from these chaotic outflows sets up the next day(?), without a parent trigger.

Only got some light sprinkles at the house this morning, but it rained hard here at work just 12 miles north of home. After tonight it's back to 98-100 right through next Monday.
