Here is a picture of the branches that snapped last night at a neighbors house. It looked like 1 large branch last night but I couldn't see it was 2 that broke.

It also makes up for the storms that dropped some big hail that missed me just to the east and the storm an hour or so later that literally died on my doorstep lol.
Are you saying you wanted those storms that dropped the big hail?
No, I didn't want the big hailer, but the 2nd storm wasn't a big hailer though and it died a few miles north of me so I was fairly disappointed to miss out on all that rain. Though before last night I probably would have traded Ping Pong ball sized hail for beneficial rain.

Multiple Road Closures in Hidalgo County. Thankfully as of right now it looks like the rain may be ending now the clean up begins.

The tradeoff to Tropical Weather. Wishing they were getting rain, Houston didn't get a whole lot from this.

There are solid signs that the background state is shifting towards nino but we may not see any benefits of that until the Fall. It takes a lot to shake up the stagnant Texas summer pattern once it sets in. We need to get some big WPAC systems to recurve into the high lats to start shaking things up or a steady stream of EPAC systems with moisture streaming up. However, I'm confident that we will see the pattern shift to better for Texas at some point but it might not be until September.

Re: Texas Summer 2018
its a nice change to see a 50% of storms today and a 40% chance tomorrow night in the midst of an extremely dry period. Hopefully something actually falls from the sky this time.

Felt great today, went on a 3 mile walk around 3 PM and the sun felt really good. It's probably just me making up for that horrible April though.

lol, the heat just didn't feel unbearable today. Of course it wasn't that long ago when I was wearing pads and a helmet in this kind of weather.

From 2" to 8" of rain fell across Harris County. Average rainfall was 3-5 inches. Just as predicted.
