You beat me to it! :D Was about to add those maps. I'll go ahead and add the 3-4 outlooks, for consistency. :ggreen:

I’ve been hearing for the past couple days that things were supposed to dry out next week, but those maps don’t indicate that and that’s perfectly fine with me! :ggreen:

Me too definitely :D, especially after the long, hot and mostly dry Summer we had, give or take a week in early July and early August here when he had several days of rain, followed by hot and dry which negated any moisture benefits. I'm definitely saturated now! :)

Been super busy but I'm pretty happy about the amount that I've received so far at the Rain Cave unlike the last time I posted. 3 and a half inches which is still lower than what many other areas have received, however as much of a Rain Miser as I am, too much too quick is not good. The rain that has fallen in my area has soaked in nicely and is beneficial.

Its 88 here today with 58% humidity and sunny skies, and it feels like an oven compared to how pleasant and overcast its been for the last week or so.

That morning downpour came out of nowhere it seemed like. I was trying to load up some boxes in the truck and it started out as a sprinkle and gradually got more intense until it was a legit gully washer. Now another round of downpours :notworthy:

DFW picked up a little less than half an inch or so today bringing the monthly total so far to 3.13". That guarantees an above normal September in qpf. 2013 was the last time Sept was above (barely) and you have to go back to 2010 (Hermine) to get something substantial. So after years and years of putrid Septembers, this one has been good.

Edit: of note also DFW has not hit 90 or greater since Sept 7.

Got a downpour around 6:30pm today. Dumped a quick quarter to half inch. I lost count of my totals. I think 6-7 inches since Labor Day

looking like next weekend may be our first shot at a bigger cold front, FWD even mentioned it:

It does appear that a decent cold front will move across the state
once the upper trough axis passes on the weekend. Rain/storms will
likely accompany the cold front followed by much cooler
temperatures.

There’s also a possibility that the front could stall out somewhere across the state and be a focal point for heavy rains.

There is also prospects of an Eastern Pacific system injecting into the overall pattern with a re-curve about the same time. This to me smells like the stuff we have been waiting for (further inland).

DFW forecast this coming week is low to mid 90s for highs and low to mid 70s for lows. This would be nice...in August..however we are now in the second half of September. Those temperatures are running 5-10F above normal. Mid 80s/mid 60s is where it should be. So the Florence warmth is on. For now.
