Now Shreveport. Well that just about completes the ring of snow around DFW that last two days. Sheesh, if that isn't a cruel tease, I don't know what is.

Hasn't been this much snow coverage this early since 09-10, and can't find anything for 76-77, but I'm sure it looked simular

If my memory serves me correct, DFW received a couple of inches of snow on November 13th 1976.

I was looking for snow cover images, but yes DFW had snow at that time.
November 13-14, 1976
Widespread 4-6 inch snow fell over much of the northern and western sections of North Texas. The area covered was north of a line through Coleman, Hamilton, Fort Worth, Bonham, and Clarksville. Lampasas also reported 5 inches of snow with this event.

Still seeing reports of snow across E TX. RGEM shows this activity lasting through the night. Maybe after dark someone can get a dusting or a very slight accumulation.

Canadian model for the win for today's very minor event, it picked this up on Thu and had it off and on since. RGEM has shown it on all runs since it got within range.

Re: Texas Fall 2018
Tonight skies should clear and very good for temps to tumble. Most areas should see middle 20s. Places where winds completely calm especially low lying areas may even go lower. Same for tomorrow night.
All eyes now turn over into Europe. The extreme 500mb ridge is setting stage for something down the road, in my opinion. Years that Texas see cold and snow early, even if very light, usually is a good sign of a good winter.

I'll try to bring some of this back from DC (however, soundings look mostly like sleet for the city)

Already down to 32 in north Fort Worth. Dew point up to 17. Going to be a cold one, guessing down to 26 IMBY.
