Well, winter was a dud for the most part around Texas. Parts of West Texas had some winter fun as well as the Panhandle. Let's move on to Spring, shall we? Here is to numerous thunderstorms but not so severe. Maybe, just maybe, a surprise winter storm can happen in March. I am not holding my breath. Enjoy the pollen everyone!!! :D

Here’s to an all time record cold Spring and Summer with 3-4 rains a week.

Is it October already? I hate Hell season here.

Yeah, at this point I’m rooting for ample rains for all so that the majority of the state can get out of drought before “Hell season” begins. Sadly it seems like the “winter season” for many of us is under the law of diminishing returns. It’s just not like it used to be. :(

My impression was that it was quite cold and miserable this winter. Not much in the way of freezes, just cold and wet. Bring on "Hell"!

Next weekend is daylight saving time, so dusk will be around 7pm next Sunday. I hate daylight saving time, just need to move to standard time year around.

Right, I mowed front and backyard yesterday in preparation for the rainy week ahead. Noticed the tree out front is starting to leaf out so that is a definite sign of winter is over.

Why do y’all hate it? I don’t understand why the vast majority of y’all on here hate longer days? To me that’s crazy!

Great news about DST next weekend. I was thinking it started in April. I am no fan at all of standard time. I wish we'd set the clocks forward again in the fall. Let the sun come up at noon, for all I care. Sunset at 5:30 isn't good for anything. Can't do anything outside after work. Now I'll have time after work to get in a 2 hr bike ride before sunset. DST all year long!

For me (and many other meteorologists), having access to computer model data 1 hour earlier sure is nice! I wish we could have CST all year around. I don't care if the sun sets at 5 or 8pm...I just want earlier computer model data!

Patience, young meteorologist. The data will come just 60 minutes later. It will make no difference at all.

Well, it is now meteorological spring, but the grass is still dormant from the freeze I had the other day (it didn't listen). :D I am sure it will start growing soon. I am looking forward to the longer days ahead. Concerning precipitation, hopefully it will be average to slightly above average for most everyone. I see that a lot of people on here are hoping for rain. Surprisingly, I still can't mow my whole yard because it is still too wet. I am just thankful that it's not very dry.

Yeah, but not for areas that need it. South of I-10 is where Texas needs the rain.

Unfortunately it looks like Nashville and areas just east got hit by a violent tornado early this morning.

News reports are showing significant property damage and there are several reports stating that there are “multiple fatalities.”

Prayers for our friends in Tennessee.
