I picked up some good rainfall totals (1.39") in Longview early this morning from a strong thunderstorm. It also dropped up to penny size hail for about 5 minutes as well. A fun little surprise.

Dang, this early? Not sure I’ve seen watches hoisted that early before.

I once had a Thunderstorm Watch show up at 7 AM! Definitely a rude awakening for me that morning!

Yep, absolutely disgusting pattern for April. Mark it down for 4 years in a row now with a cold shot in April

Ping pong to tennis ball sized hail reported in Roundrock and Georgetown according to the EWX. Got really dark (streetlights turned on) here, but just a little wind and rain. No hail here, thankfully! We were on southern fringe of warning.

My wife's cohort from work drove home to Roundrock from work in North Austin and got caught in it. She sent pics of larger than golf balls. She said it was "terrifying!" Her car was new. Now dents all over and cracked windshield. I agree, hail pretty much sucks.lol. No joke. Wow.

Well if theres any good news, it appears that Tuesday is the only really cold day coming up, after that it warms up again, which should eventually lead to increased severe weather pattern later in the month

3.76" of rain over the last week in Longview has been nice since models had been showing quite a bit less. Hopefully the rest of Texas is cashing in, or can sooner rather than later.

Yeah Texas needs a stormy May. I fear the summer death ridge will park itself over us if we go into June with below normal rain totals.

The good news is models are showing a strong storm system late next week that could produce some much needed rain for most of the state.Lets hope it pans out.
