A couple brief, but heavy downpours early this morning gave me 0.29" at my house in Longview.

GFS total precip over the next 16 days is pretty light over most of Texas, except maybe for a few areas in the western parts of the state that may get an inch or so.

Nice but mostly boring weather should dominate the state for the most part, sans for a day or two of storms here and there.

Yeah that freeze warning is an absolutely disgusting way to start April lol. But hey, at least it's only one night.

I just hope this April isn't cold like the last few. Especially 2018 and 2020, both had significant cold stretches. Luckily, this one doesn't appear to be cold at all

I really thought we’d squeeze out another freeze or two. I guess not, we did get close this morning though. 35 with a light frost.

And I haven’t had more than a tenth over the last 16 days with drought conditions overspreading SE Texas. In April. This can’t be good going into summer.

I had 3+ inches recently in my place but now no rain for 8 or so days. Fire risks are a real threat in South West Texas. It very well may soon include Southeast TX as well.

Considering we are well into spring, this thread sure is pretty dead. I really don't buy the models showing little to no activity for so long. I have noticed that when a rather quiet period of weather is ongoing, the models tend to overextend patterns. A lot of times they only last 5-7 days and not 10+ days like the models often show.

Happy Easter everybody. Today is also my daughter's 13th birthday and! I am smoking a ton of ribs. Hoping for a bit of sunshine later when the Shiner Bock starts calling my name.

Sure hope mid-April starts picking up. We will only have about a month left of peak spring season.

Only East Texas looks to have a shot at any kind of meaningful precipitation over the next 7 days.

Yes, but you may need to wait for the next several days . . .

The Cap is stopping any chances of storms . . . :(

06 GFS looks much better for rainfall across most of Texas with 1"-4+" amounts shown over the next 16 days.
