Let's talk about last night's Canadian because this would be my biggest snowfall since the 2010 storm. Would be funny if I beat out ever Ohio storm I went through at the beginning of November here lol. I say lock it in!

This is only acceptable if you can push it into DFW. :thermo:

Just bring me some Spangles while you are at it. Yum. I do recall trick-or-treating once in the snow north of Wichita as a kid. Crazy experience.

No changes in thinking today. This is the same pattern that delivered cold last winter that has continued. November is starting out cold and I expect the models to continue correcting it down the Great Plains vs East. Same residual blocking as February. If this were in mid-winter we'd be talking deep freeze but it is early November rather. It's going to come down in a couple of waves succession. Essentially what is happening is the same, a chunk of the polar regions is dislodged due to the blocking, it's just not wickedly cold up there yet is the difference.

It's only a couple of days though, but it's going to be cold!

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Would love for November 1976 (first two weeks) to verify. DFW with 4.7" of snow in 1976 for the pattern.

Big time snow on the 0z GFS. The signal is there for sure. Wouldn't it be something if it underestimated the cold and was too far north? Shift that snow south to where southern Kansas gets 15" OKC gets 20" and DFW gets 4-10". A guy can dream, right?

Some of the Euro members are hammering the Great Plains with snow late next week. Member #15 even has snow through DFW, and a decent amount at that.

And the Wind Chill is not helping any either.

Gusts up to 60 mph are expected today as well

Ha I saw that too

The rain is actually keeping our winds from being worse here for now still over 40 but yeah could easily be 50-60 if it cleared like what is happening further west.

OKC is sustained at 43 mph :double:
