It can get interesting early December if the Aleutian/wpo ridge projects into the epo domain and a little -pna. With SE ridge and bleed of the big cold pool in Canada. We don't need a lot of cold just enough to time it with a system.

It is intriguing euro and gfs has a big trof dec 7+/- while their ensembles has ridging. That says not a lot of confidence.

Beautiful weather this week. Winter can wait. Still a long ways until January/February.

Watching models feels like it did during the 18-19 winter. Run after run keeps getting pushed back. The cold shot was Thanksgiving…then the 3rd…then the 9th…now maybe the 12th…

It will snow again one day, but I’m doubtful it’s soon.

My last post on the Texas Fall Forum before we head straight for the Texas Winter forum

Unfortunately so far, winter is not looking good right with the EPO being extremely positive & has been like this for 2-3 months, but I'm worried that it will become extremely negative to counter the Extreme Positive & it WILL get nasty cold.

Well, shucks. Starting to get a little concerned. I am fine with a relatively warm early winter, but it needs to get cold in January.....

Yeah I agree there but the truth is since I moved to the plains in 2014 I've never seen much in December here. It's always been January or February when it happened

I'm definitely concerned it could be like 11-12 still and never really get cold (although apparently that winter had a lot of rain which wouldn't be the worst thing) but otherwise

It's not my fault. If I had anything to do with it the high would reach the 80s every day.

The only hope I see for cold weather is the last frame of the 12Z CFS... What a bummer. We need something to break this pattern.
