National Weather Service Fort Worth TX
646 PM CDT Thu Mar 14 2024

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Tornado Warning for... East central Denton County in north central Texas... West central Collin County in north central Texas...

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 645 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Hackberry, or near Lake Lewisville, moving northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and baseball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... Frisco, Little Elm, and Prosper around 650 PM CDT. McKinney around 655 PM CDT. Celina around 700 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Lewisville Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

* At 722 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Melissa, or 8 miles north of McKinney, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

* This dangerous storm will be near... Anna, Melissa, and Van Alstyne around 730 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include White Mound, Westminster, Cannon, Elmont, Weston, and Pilot Grove.

Not seeing much on the dryline to the west, but that supercell was INTENSE. It was luckily tame when it went through here in its early stages.
