Right now, here on Culebra, it has calmed down to a mild breeze, no rain, andthe sun is weakly shining. The birds are out again, chirping away.

Interesting...on the NWS radar, the *box of danger* is there. I've never seen it there before.

Same condition as Culebra right now.Light winds,cloudy without rain and yes the sun is trying to come out faintly.But I know that more will come later tonight.

Looks like the worst is now passed the Lesser Antilles, and south of you, Luis. Pretty fast moving wave.

It has been quiet in San Juan after this afternoon's wind and rain period in which between .50 to 2 inches has fallen so far in parts of the island.Also this afternoon it was pretty windy with wind gusts from 30-38 mph range.The 38 mph gust was in Arecibo Airport.BUt since that period for more than 5 hours nothing has occured but only cloudy skies and a light breeze.But as I see the radar more bands are comming my way so let's see what occurs later on and tommorow morning I will post a report on what occured overnight.

Hi guys! Well, I didn't plan to be gone so long, but ended up involved in a search & rescue and just got home. Our little 21' rescue boat was in some really heavy thunderstorms with visibility of less than 500ft (in the dark) and plenty of lightning. The helm said he'd wait for lightning to give him a bearing and then just keep driving the same direction until the next one! LOL!

I watched the radar from our base and saw in advance some nasty little fast-moving thunderstorms that come through around, I'd guess about 8pm, with downpour. They may have headed just far enough north to have missed you guys in PR. Ugh, what a night! It's quiet now, and the frogs are makin a racket!!

Well,it was quiet here,a surprise for me as I was expecting a rainy night.But as I see the wave has weaken as it interacts with the TUTT trough.Bvigal I was watching that big batch of precipitation last night at your area but deviated to the NW avoiding Puerto Rico.

Here in Guadeloupe,we got bad weather yesterday with rains from 60mm to 130mm,and strong gusty winds around 30kts .
The weather return to normal this morning.
No problems,and these rains were needed because of the drought since march.
Wait now for the up comming systems......

Well, after Alberto, I'm not ready to hand the mike over to the fat lady; but it looks like this one lost a lot of what it had going for it, with the IR image the only areas of noteable convection seem to lay below Hispaniola; things could change; but I think the obese one is limbering up her voice.

The wave is now no longer sick like it was at Noon and this morning. I'm I seeing a pattern here? Yes, the pattern is this wave will have it's "up's and down's". This means that it will look sick and then good and then sick and then good and it will keep going like that for a while until it does something. I believe in this for all tropical waves because that's all i see. Maybe the odd wave will fizzle out but most go through this cycle I notice.

Well fellow NE Caribbean members,Let's continue to post about the effects of this new wave for the NE Caribbean.Will the strongest part deviate and avoid the islands?

Watching the loops it doesn't make me thrilled that it doesn't seem to do more than a static little dance without heading north, but it's SOOOOOO close to the edge of us, so, thinking nudge thoughts, I'll wait and see what it looks like later tonight...maybe some great and needed rain, but not good for Papa Festival!

Above is a closeup loop of the NE Caribbean and by seeing it we can say if the strongest convective area will avoid the islands or not.
