58 at noon in Tampa...yeah it can go ahead and warm up now. At least the CAA has halted...that's a good first step.

I'd just like to not have to go from A/C to heat and back to A/C again, a few days in between without either would be nice. Looks like tomorrow will be the only day for that in the TB area before it gets yucky and humid again ahead of the next front mid-week.

Well the FV3 GFS (which will replace the old GFS soon) is trending colder so we will see, nearly comprable to this recent cold snap:

How did that model perform with this cold snap? Relative to the GFS and Euro.

The NAO is going back up to positive next week and PNA back down to near neutral, it does not make sense for another cold blast to come down next week to the FL Peninsula like it did earlier this week. All I can see is low temps in the 40s for central FL and 50s for S FL making it down.

As of now it looks like next week's cooldown will be less intense than what we just experienced. It feels like Florida again today which is pretty spectacular this time of year.

Happy meteorological start to the Winter 2018-2019 season everyone!

We are only 20 days from the Winter Solstice.

Latest 06Z GFS run this morning continues to indicate a colder trend for next week to days, Dec.10-12. There are hints of potential freeze across at least the northern peninsula by that time period.

There will be likely changes to this I am sure...

Rain already moving across the area and more on tap today into tomorrow as a shortwave out of GOM moves through the peninsula this weekend.

:jacket: That's funny you mentioned that, because I was just thinking the same thing. Especially likely from points from N. Panhandle, to Ocala Eastward to JAX/St. Augustine areas.

If we get a cold front it will just cool off a couple of degrees the NAO will be positive at that point.I just wish it would rain very dry here.

I think if models were to back off from next week's cold front they would of done it on Thursday or at least last night(ooz runs). Now it will be down to nowcasting.

Measured just over an inch of rain yesterday as. steady rain moved through the area as the subtropical jet continues to be active .

There will be more rain later today over the area as another shortwave moves along the STJ and gives us decent amounts in some areas. Mild to warm temps today as the mercury will top out near 80 degrees in some spots that see more sun today.

Cold front sinks south through North Florida on Tuesday,, and the remainder of the peninsula Wednesday. The +NAO currently now in.progress will keep temps closer to norms after frontal passage later this week.It appears for now Northeast Florida will not see a freeze with this next air mass.

Looking. a bit farther ahead to December11-13 period, this morning's 06Z GFS long range has backed off the magnitude of that potential cold airmass compared to yesterday's 06Z run as well. Yeah, the ole+NAO is definitely back it appears for now flexing its influence.

Nope, models slowly backing off a little as of this morning. Trust me, we’ll be very luck to see 50’s here in S.FL with the current state of the teleconnections. Though the latest CPC temperature outlooks show near-average temperatures for the foreseeable future.

It looks like some of the models not all have the NAO dropping into negative range which means cooler and hopefully wetter down here

Thanks to a +NAO for Thursday morning's lows, 30s will only make it down to northern FL and the usual cold spots of the Nature Coast, 40s across central FL and interior areas of SW FL, 50s & low 60s across SE FL.
This is a good 7-10 degrees warmer than this past week's cold air mass.

The pattern currently and during the past couple of weeks has been favoring rains for California, where they really need it more than us here in FL.
