TORNADO SHELTER MAP

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Sun Jul 02, 2023 6:41 pm

I have become aware of an awesome project done by one of the pro-mets on S2K CrazyC83 aka Craig Ceecee, Ph.D,
He has developed a tornado shelter map for the United States. It is located at findyourtornadoshelter.com. He is constantly updating it. If you are in a home/building that will not protect you during a tornado, this map might help you find a shelter near you to go to. If you know of public shelters not shown on the map please let Dr. Ceecee know so he can update his map.

It looks like this could save a lot of lives during tornadoes. :jump: Congratulations to Dr. Ceecee for this work that will be essential. I hope more people become aware of this site, it will help a lot.

Thank you so much! It's part of a new operation I am working on. I plan on turning it into an LLC very soon and also do consulting work with EMAs.

Do you have any updates on how this program is progressing? I have actually used it to help a friend who lives in a mobile home determine where there is a shelter available in her area.
